Take a peek outside and you might be lucky to see that it’s finally that time of the year where we leave the dark (rainy!), and cold winter days behind. Spring is now upon us and with that comes a brand new anime season. We’ve trawled through the lot and listed the spring 2020 anime you should be giving some attention to. “Set in the late 19th century, APPARE-RANMAN! follows Sorano Appare and Isshiki Kosame, two Japanese characters that end up lost in America. Brand New Animal (BNA) is set in a 21st century in which the existence of humanoid animals has been revealed to the world after living in the darkness for centuries. One day, a high school student named Michiru suddenly turns into a tanuki person. After going to live in Anima City, where she meets wolf Ogami Shiro, she goes on to investigate why she became an animal and gets mixed up in even stranger events in the process.

Wave, Listen to Me!

“Wave, Listen to Me! tells the story of main character Minare Koda, who is decompressing one night while out drinking in the city. She ends up spilling her love life grievances to a worker from a local radio station, and is shocked when she is working the next day and finds that her rant has been publicized on air! She quickly heads to the radio station to get to the bottom of the situation when she’s tricked into a live interview with the station’s director. But, what’s this? Her rant lands her a job at the station? Set in Hokkaido, Japan, this is where Wave, Listen to Me! takes off, as Minare dives ever deeper into the world of broadcast radio.”

That’s it for our Spring 2020 anime selections. It’s a mixed bag in terms of genres but each show has made it onto the list for either its new spin on a genre, fresh and/or daring idea amongst a few other things. Our next season preview will be for summer 2020!
